what to expect
Sessions are revolved around the mood of your little human(s). Depending on your choice of location we will move around the house or take an easy walk through nature, letting the kids take the lead. Let them play, let them explore, let them cry, let them connect. My aim is to simply capture you as you would be and as you are. To have these photographs capture your organic interactions as a family. I encourage you to be in the moment, be present with your family, focus only on each other to make the most of your session. I may offer gentle prompts or direct you to a pocket of light but otherwise I aim to let your story naturally unfold.

WHEN DO WE SHOOT?
Once again this is totally up to you and we will keep in contact as to when you feel is best:
Day one, is understandably a busy and highly emotional day, with lots of visitors and you will be recovering from the birth. Shooting in this time would be more of a raw, real session of purely documenting your emotions and interactions as a new little family unit - a very special time. If you are wanting first visits to be documented with siblings or family, then this is a good day for that.
Day two, is a good day to shoot as you’ve recovered slightly from day one, had a sleep (hopefully) and freshened up a little. Visitors would have come and gone on the first day, so we can take a visiting hour to ourselves for a more relaxed session.
Day three, typically when your milk comes in, which generally leads to a very emotional mama with plenty of tears… for this reason I would prefer (and at the time you will too) to shoot on day one or two.
